Statewide LED Roadway Lighting Reform Project

Washington Department of Transportation

Evari GIS Consulting served as a subcontractor under an estimated $4.6 million project, delivering significant financial, maintenance, and environmental efficiency savings. Evari provided enterprise GIS services to support initial geocoding, manage, and conduct a comprehensive GIS audit throughout the state.

Evari staff field-checked approximately 28,290 WSDOT-owned luminaires and created circuit associations with approximately 3,673 service cabinets. The up-to-date data from the audit empowered Ameresco and WSDOT staff with the transparency needed to make informed decisions, manage, query, and report on their lighting infrastructure.

The project was expected to reduce annual energy usage by 2.6 million kWh (kilowatt-hours), saving $217,554 in utility costs, reducing annual maintenance costs by $36,900, and decreasing annual greenhouse gas emissions by over 993 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
