The City of Sonoma, CA

Evari GIS Consulting partnered with the City of Sonoma to develop an interactive Historic Resources Webmap showcasing the city’s architectural and cultural heritage. The project involved digitizing and geocoding over 400 historic assets—including individual sites, structures, and districts—along with detailed attributes such as property name, address, built date, and architectural style. The final webmap integrated photos and hyperlinks to archival documentation, creating a user-friendly, publicly accessible platform for exploring Sonoma’s historic environment.

In addition to the public-facing map, Evari developed a custom web application that enables City staff to edit and update asset information as needed, ensuring long-term maintainability and flexibility. Designed for use across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, the completed map now serves as a valuable tool for planning, education, and heritage tourism in the community.
