LED Streetlight Conversion

The City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia Energy Authority and the City of Philadelphia collaborated on the procurement of an energy efficiency project aimed at converting street lighting from High Pressure Sodium (HPS) luminaires to Light Emitting Diode (LED) luminaires within the City of Philadelphia's right-of-way. Evari played a crucial role as a subconsultant, providing investment-grade audit services, managing the Lighting System Database (LSDB), offering lighting design support, facilitating community outreach, overseeing pilot project implementation, and conducting equity analyses to target underserved communities in Philadelphia.

Evari conducted a comprehensive street lighting audit covering 132,000 assets within the city limits of Philadelphia, PA. Using GPS-enabled mobile tablets equipped with the custom Esri ArcGIS Collector application, field auditors gathered the location, associated attribute information, and photos of each streetlight asset within the audit boundary. Evari developed custom WebGIS dashboards to monitor audit progress, offering key insights to relevant stakeholders throughout the project. The support provided by Evari spanned Field Audit, Preliminary Design, Installation, Project Management, and Measurement and Verification (M&V) throughout the entire project.
