Lighting Assessment

The City of Vista, California

Evari GIS Consulting, acting as a subcontractor, played a crucial role in a project aimed at improving street lighting infrastructure, enhancing energy efficiency, and visualizing lighting improvements. Services included an initial field audit, data management, and a regional photometrics lighting assessment using their proprietary software, EvariLUX.

The project sought to transition the city to energy-efficient LED lighting, requiring a thorough assessment of the existing street lighting infrastructure. Evari conducted a detailed audit covering over 800 street lights, both during daylight and at night.

Our approach integrated technology with expertise, utilizing EvariLUX to streamline the lighting assessment and design process. Field audits were meticulous, covering technical aspects, visual impact, and energy efficiency. Robust data management strategies were implemented to analyze information effectively.

EvariLUX facilitated a regional photometrics analysis, offering a ground-truth understanding of existing infrastructure. Visualizations of lighting improvements were developed, combining GIS data with fixture-specific files within EvariLUX.

A web scene was created to provide stakeholders with a visual snapshot of lighting throughout the project area. This tool empowered decision-makers to visualize outcomes before construction.

EvariLUX's capabilities supported the city's streetlighting assessment, enabling informed decision-making for efficient energy usage, enhanced public safety, and improved aesthetics. Our GIS services and web maps provided stakeholders with up-to-date, location-based information.
