HISTORICAL RESOURCES

With a deep understanding of architectural and urban history and a specialized focus on leveraging Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, we provide comprehensive historic resource consulting services. Our work bridges the gap between past and present, ensuring that historic sites are preserved and integrated thoughtfully into modern development.

We offer expert consulting services to help identify, document, and evaluate historic resources. Whether it's a single building, a district, or a cultural landscape, we provide thorough assessments that inform preservation strategies and compliance efforts.

Historic Resource Consulting

Leveraging the power of GIS technology, we provide advanced spatial analysis that enhances the understanding of historic resources in their broader context. GIS allows us to create detailed maps that document historic inventories, visually representing the distribution and significance of cultural assets across a landscape. These maps serve as crucial tools in identifying patterns, relationships, and potential impacts on historic resources.

GIS-Based Analysis

Our Story Mapping service uses maps to tell compelling historic narratives. By combining historical research with GIS technology, we create interactive and engaging maps that bring the stories of places and communities to life. This service is ideal for public history projects, educational initiatives, and heritage tourism.

Story Mapping

We contribute to the writing of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents, as well as other impact studies, focusing on historic resource preservation. Our expertise ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, providing essential support for projects that involve historic sites.

City of Riverside Street Light LED Conversion Program Development and LED Street Lighting Project

In collaboration with historians, lighting designers, architects, and data managers, Evari performed a decorative streetlight inventory audit and oversaw the installation process of historic streetlights identified as being poor in condition and/or requiring LED conversion. This work aided in improving functionality and efficiency of streetlights in historic districts while honoring the aesthetic and atmospheric integrity.

City of Lake Forest Storm Drain As-Built Georeferencing

In an effort to integrate the City’s historical stormwater network system to GIS, Evari indexed, rectified, and classified engineering drawings of junction structures (i.e. manholes) and catch basins (i.e. inlets, outfalls, etc.). As a result, this enabled the Public Works Department to query, manage, and visualize accurate stormwater-related data seamlessly.
